ND002 Bullet Mold. Measures approximately 3.5" long and .50" wide at the top where you would pour in the lead and approximately approximately .75" at the bottom when the mold is closed. This very interesting bullet mold could even be pre-war. This type was hand forged and has a sprue-cutter built into the handle. There is a tamper on one arm and a worming tool on the other. I have been told these were used for multi-barrel or pepper box pistols and are extremely difficult to find. This appears that it would have made approximately .36 caliber round ball. This is an exquisite mold - primitive and extremely rare. $100.00
ND003 Bullet Mold. Measures approximately 5.50" long and approximately .875" wide at the tope where you would pour in the lead and approximately 2.0" at the widest point on the bottom when the mold is closed. This mold is for a larger caliber round ball. It has a built in sprue cutter forged into the handle and the number "18" stamped into the left arm of the mold. I'm unsure of what the meaning of the number is. The mold is nice and tight. This is approximately a .64 Caliber Round Ball. $50.00 HOLD
ND004 Bullet Mold. Measures approximately 3.375" long and approximately .625" wide at the top where you would pour in the lead and approximately 1.5" at the widest point on the bottom when the mold is closed. This unique mold is for a single shot pistol. There is a sprue cutter built into the handle and has a large block of metal forged into the handle. This is for inserting into the barrel of the pistol and turned to unscrew the barrel from the breech for removal of powder, bullet or just for cleaning. The cavity appears to be for making approximately a .44 caliber bullet and is in itself, another scarce, hard to find model. This could possibly be pre-war but bullets of this type were definitely used during the Civil War. Very nice, clean and tight early, scarce mold. Extremely rare with barrel removal lug cast onto arm. $75.00
ND006 Standard Issue Musket Nipple Protector (non-dug) - This is the notorious nipple protector that was so often removed from a soldier's musket and replaced with a field made one. The soldier's didn't like the noise that this made because it was chained to the musket. Nice example of a non-dug nipple protector. $15.00 HOLD
ND008 Non Dug US cuff size Eagle button. I don't know what period, either Civil War or Indian Wars, but lots of gold plating remains. Back marked "Waterbury Button Co. * " inner ring of dots. $10.00
ND009 RARE piece of Button Maker History. Here is a brass disc from either an employee ID or perhaps to label bins of buttons in the plant. Front "Waterbury * * * Brass Co ". I assume there were three stars on both sides of Waterbury. Rear has raised "No" and a stamped "9" surrounded by 13 stars. Markings are crisp and sharp. This disc has some very-fine craftsmanship to it. There are tens of thousands of Waterbury buttons out here, but I wonder how many of these ID discs survived. Here is a chance for all you button collectors to own a piece of the company to go with its buttons. $150.00
ND010 Non dug "1-Piece Coin Buttons". Coin buttons were a mainstay of the Confederacy but they were also used in the Revolutionary War. We have non-dug brass gilded coin buttons. Several different backmarks. Beginning to tarnish, but never cleaned. Would look great in a display beside dug coin buttons, which every one of us that has gone metal detecting have in our relic cases. $10.00 each
ND011 Virginia Militia Button VA20 - This is a beautiful 3 piece Virginia Militia high-convex button, listed in Alberts as VA20. This is probably one of the most widely issued of pre-1865 Virginia Staff Commonwealth Coat of Arms buttons. This has tons of gold where it should be and is a well executed button. Its use during the war is well documented. The only flaw to this button is the fact that when it was twisted off of a coat jacket, the shank broke. As you can see by the pictures, it did not push the back - there are absolutely no pushes or dents - this is just a BEAUTIFUL button with excellent provenance as I saw the button pulled from the coat. I've had this button in my private collection for many years. 200.00
ND012 Musket Wrench - This is a musket ring for early single shot pistol. These came out of an old lot of bullet molds and gun tools. This would have been used for assembly or disassembly of a single shot hexagonal barrelled pistol. These were often found in cases with pistols. $25.00
ND013 Musket Wrench - This is a musket ring for early single shot pistol. These came out of an old lot of bullet molds and gun tools. This would have been used for assembly or disassembly of a single shot hexagonal barrelled pistol. These were often found in cases with pistols. $25.00
